右京の魅力発信事業編集部 今日紹介するのは以前紹介した広沢池で行われる灯籠流しです。
広沢池灯籠流しは盂蘭盆のお精霊送りの行事です。
盂蘭盆では先ず迎え鐘などで先祖の霊を迎え、灯籠流し・送り鐘・五山送り火などで先祖の霊を送り返します。
灯籠流しでは灯籠を購入し、先祖の霊を供養することもできます。
灯籠流しを行っている遍照寺は十世紀末(９８９年)平安時代中期、宇多天皇の孫が広沢池畔の山荘を改めて寺院にしたものです。
灯籠流しは昭和24年(1946年)に戦没者の霊魂を供養するため、灯籠による慰霊を始めたことがきっかけとされているので、76年前から行われていたことになります。
有名で歴史もある灯籠流し、ぜひ見に来てください。

The Hirosawa Pond lantern Drift is an event to send the spirits of the Bon Lan Basin.
At the Bon Lan Basin, the spirits of the ancestors are first greeted with a welcome bell, and the spirits of the ancestors are sent back with lanterns, bells, and fires.
You can also buy lanterns and offer memorial service to the spirits of your ancestors.
At the end of the 10th century (989), in the Heian period, the grandson of emperor Uda turned the mountain villa on the shore of Hirosawa Pond into a temple.
It is said that the lantern shedding began in 1949(Showa 24) to commemorate the souls of the war dead, so it has been done for 76 years.
